MTC is very excited to announce and welcome our new Director of Tennis, Feisal Hassan.
Feisal’s first day at MTC was Feb 20.
Feisal’s has a strong background and passion and energy for tennis. He has already put a lot of thought into programs and clinics that will enhance the experiences of current members while attracting new members to help our club grow. Feisal has experience with diverse adult programs that span beginner to advanced levels as well as with developing junior programs for all levels.
Feisal was recently named the 2011 USPTA National Professional of the Year. He was also recognized by the Racquet Sports Industry’s 2011 Champions of Tennis USPTA Member of the
Year. He has also been recognized five times in the past as the Mid-Atlantic Professional of the Year.
Feisal was previously a tennis pro at ACAC. Before that, he had extensive Director of Tennis experience (over 14 years) at large facilities in Northern Virginia and Pennsylvania and several years directing the Briarwood facility here in Richmond.
Feisal comes with many top notch certifications:
• USTA Master Professional certification (1% of certified pros have this classification worldwide)
• USTA/USPTA Specialist degree in Competitive Player Development
• USPTA Specialist Degree in Facility Management
• USPTA Specialist in Little Tennis
• USTA High Performance Coach
• TRX certified Trainer
Feisal has a very strong relationship with the USTA and USPTA and is on the leading front of
many of their new developments. His involvement includes:
• USTA Recreation Coach National and 10 and Under/Quickstart Trainer
• Member of the USTA Youth Education Committee.
• Member of the National Cardio Tennis Speakers Team
• Co-chair of the USPTA National Education Committee
• Co-chair of the USPTA National College Curriculum Committee
• Member of the USPTA Certification & Testing Committee
Feisal is a well-known speaker for the USPTA and USTA and can be seen in an upcoming spot on the Tennis Channel. Feisal has also written the book, “How to Handle Difficult Players and Conditions” and is currently working on his second book, “Doubles: Phases & Situations.” Please join me in welcoming Feisal and his family to MTC. Feisal’s wife of 26 years, Carolyn, plays 3.5 tennis and is a Wound Care specialist/RN at Chippenham Hospital. They have two daughters, Nadia and Sophia.
