Letter from Our GM

First Edition! 6/2015

Hello MTC Members, Players and Parents,
I would like to take this time to introduce myself and our team as we launch into a new era at Midlothian Tennis Club (MTC). I am honored and feel lucky to have been given this wonderful opportunity to be the General Manager at MTC. I consider myself fortunate and would like to thank the BOM for recognizing me as the best person to continue and develop MTC to the highest level it can be. With such a strong, friendly and dedicated membership, it made my decision that much easier to become an investor, owner and more importantly the next GM. Members deserve the best possible facility, superior customer service, fun-filled socials and tournaments in an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement along with area recognition of being a top-notch teaching facility. MORE….

I am honored to lead a group of highly qualified and committed tennis professionals. My background is as follows: I have been the Director of Tennis at Woodlake Swim and Racquet Club for the last 18 years. Part of my career was at Mt. Auburn Club, one of the largest tennis clubs in New England for 11 years.  I also ran offense and defense tennis camps in Milton, Massachusetts with 144 campers weekly, while supervising 44 tennis instructors. I have taught many ranked juniors and specialized in adult lessons. I graduated from the University of Maryland where I played my college career and earned a BA in business and a minor in economics.

We are so excited that Stuart Bowden will be rejoining the team as he has accepted the position of Director of Tennis. Stuart will bring our vision of a fun-filled family environment where players of all ages and levels can feel comfortable and maximize their potential. His strong background, education and his teaching abilities will be a great asset for our outstanding Adult and Junior teaching programs.  Adding Stuart to our team will make our club the premier place to be for learning the game of tennis at all levels. Stuart is a USPTA Elite Professional and graduation for the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies. Stuart is coming from Salisbury Country Club where he was the Head Tennis Professional and Junior Coordinator.

Our team’s vision is to create an atmosphere of excitement “one big happy tennis family” for all levels and all club members. While focusing on all programs and event with exceptional customer service for our members, we will also stay focused on our most important asset, our facility. Our team will listen and work with BOM and our members to make improvements to MTC over the years to come.  We will develop a member based volunteer committee, Midlothian Tennis Association (MTA) to work with our team to help create the wants and needs of our members and our facility. We want our valued members to have a unified voice and contribute to the overall goals we set forth for our club. It is our members and the relationships we develop that make the club a special place to be a part of.

Welcome, Susan Zielinski our new Assist General Manager who will lead our strong customer service of excellence for each and every one of our members. Susan is coming from the Woodlake Swim and Racquet Club where she has a strong emphasis on organizational skills, customer service and communication of programs and upcoming events as the Tennis Coordinator for the past 3 years. Prior to that Susan own her own business for 11 years. We are excited to say Trish Thagard will be staying on and she will be working closely with Susan. You will continue to see her smiling and friendly face at the front desk.

All of our staff members will support an encouraging environment with their positive attitudes, encouragement, and endless enthusiasm inspiring children and adults to reach their best every time they step onto the court (and off!) and have fun both playing the sport and enjoying the community.

We would also like to thank you for all of your patience and understanding as we work through our transition.

What an exciting time 2015 is going to be for MTC! My staff and I look forward to seeing you on the courts!

September Edition! 9/2015

Hello MTC Members,

My first 4 months here has been full of some exciting times. My staff and I have enjoyed getting to know the membership.  We surely hope everyone has noticed and enjoyed our hard work on taking our club to the next level! We have focused on creating a fun-filled atmosphere for everyone by offering events, tournaments, top instruction and socials that all our members can enjoy.  Our team is striving to have excellent customer service on and off the court.
We hope everyone has recognized and noticed the improvements and upgrades to our facility. Our new and approved hitting wall will be finished soon. Thank you, again for your patience on our flood situation, we have improved and updated our bathrooms and atrium area. We have addressed the drainage issue by doing the appropriate remediation in hopes that we can avoid this situation in the future. Our outside courts are playing and looking great!! Our indoor courts are redone and ready for our indoor season this week. We will be offering an exciting new contract lottery program along with more men and women’s winter in-house leagues. Get your contract time and sign up for the leagues to have plenty of guaranteed playing time while also meeting and playing with old and new members.
