Until recently, Ken was the Tennis Director at the Woodlake Swim and Racquet Club for 18 years. Part of his career was at Mt. Auburn Club, one of the largest tennis clubs in New England for 11 years. He also ran offense and defense tennis camps in Milton, Massachusetts with 144 campers weekly, while supervising 44 tennis instructors. He has taught many ranked juniors and specializes in adult lessons.
Ken graduated from the University of Maryland where he played his college career and earned a BA in business and a minor in economics. Ken’s vision is to grow the game of tennis at all levels and for all ages at MTC. He encourages participation, socialization, the spirit of competition, and the love of the sport with his personal touch – The McKay Way.
His teaching philosophy is based on positive motivation; Ken believes that success is always possible in an environment that is fun and energetic. His methods focus on incremental improvement through one workout at a time.
Ken serves as a coach, trainer, and mentor to our junior players, demonstrating sportsmanship and the essence of fair play. The lessons learned by the junior players are not limited to just swinging a racquet!
